How to Understand "New to You" & "New Lesson" Tags
Whenever you see the "New to You" tag on the Upcoming Classes tab, it means that this is the first time you will teach that student. The "New Lesson" tag means that this is the first time you'll be teaching that lesson. Preparing for such a class can be a good idea since you have a perfect opportunity to leave a great first impression. You are able to find the tags both from your Teacher Portal and mobile app.
On your Teacher Portal
The "New to You" Student
- Open the desktop app or visit the Teacher Portal website
- Go to Class, then Classrooms
- Find the “New to You” tag under the student name
- Click on the student’s name
The "New Lesson"
- Open the desktop app or visit the Teacher Portal website
- Go to Class, then Classrooms
- Find the “New Lesson” tag under the lesson
- Click on “Materials"
On your mobile device
The "New to You" Student
- Open the mobile app on your smartphone
- Tap on “All Bookings"
- Find the “New” tag under the student's name
- Tap on the class, then “Student Info”
The "New Lesson"
- Open the mobile app on your smartphone
- Tap on “All Bookings"
- Find the “New Lesson” tag under the lesson
- Tap on the class, then “Materials”
What do parents expect?
When parents book a class with VIPKid, they expect the teacher to be energetic, engaging with the student, and be prepared for the lesson. When teachers prepare for “New to You” students and “New Lessons, ” they are more likely to receive “5-apple” feedback expressing the parent’s appreciation and a booking request for more classes. However, when the teacher comes unprepared, “low-apple” feedback may be waiting for them with tags about areas that need improvement.
